[Financial News] Soop is teaming up with Com2uS Holdings to develop games featuring streamers.
The plan is to incorporate streamers’ personalities and broadcast content into games to create new revenue streams and expand the business into overseas markets.
Soop said on the 3rd that it had signed an MOU with Com2uS Holdings on cooperation in game development and content at Freecup Studio in Daechi-dong, Seoul, on the 29th of last month.
The two companies plan to use streamers active on Soop as key elements in games, such as characters and content. They aim to diversify revenue models by connecting the name recognition and fan bases streamers have built through their broadcasts with the gaming business.
Beyond game production, the companies will work together on content planning, promotion and marketing. They are pursuing game releases aimed at overseas users and are also considering ways to increase user participation by linking live broadcasts with game content.
Soop plans to contribute streamers’ intellectual property (IP) and its experience operating a broadcasting platform, while Com2uS Holdings will handle game production and distribution, allowing each company to draw on its strengths.
Hong Gi-seok, head of Soop’s Social Streamer Business Division, said, "We will work to provide streamers and users alike with new content experiences."
