[Financial News] The Mirae Asset Park Hyeon-joo Foundation gave 250 young people the opportunity to experience China's cutting-edge industrial sites through three trips this year.
The Mirae Asset Park Hyeon-joo Foundation said on the 3rd that it had wrapped up its 2026 program with the conclusion of the 29th Global Cultural Experience Program, held in Shenzhen, China, from October 29 through the 1st.
The Global Cultural Experience Program is the foundation's flagship social contribution program, helping young people discover their potential and broaden their perspectives on future technologies through overseas visits. A total of 250 young people who use child welfare facilities took part in three sessions this year, with 73 participating in the final, 29th session.
Over three nights and four days, participants visited BYD, the Baidu Apollo exhibition hall, DJI, the Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum, and other sites. They explored cutting-edge industries such as autonomous driving, drones and mobility, and experienced how technological change affects everyday life and industry.
During the trip, a “Project Presentation” was also held to connect the experiences gained on site with career exploration. With the help of mentors, the young people developed ideas they had come up with during the visit and presented on how future technologies related to their own career paths.
A participant who rode in a Baidu robotaxi said, “Riding in Shenzhen in person in an autonomous taxi I had seen in movies made me realize that future technology is already close to our everyday lives,” adding, “This experience has given me greater interest in and aspirations for a career in a related field.”
A social contribution industry representative said, “Overseas visits for young people can have greater educational value when they connect what participants experience on site with their own interests and career paths,” adding, “Programs that combine hands-on technology experiences with mentoring and presentation activities can help young people envision their futures more concretely.”
Launched in 2007, the Mirae Asset Global Cultural Experience Program has provided overseas trip opportunities to a total of 2,636 young people to date. A representative of the Mirae Asset Park Hyeon-joo Foundation said, “I hope this camp will be an opportunity to have a positive impact on young people as they prepare for their futures, going beyond a simple field trip,” adding, “We will continue to support young people so they can pursue their dreams on a broader stage.”
