[Financial News] Amorepacific Corporation held the second Sulwhasoo Longevity Symposium on the 2nd at its headquarters in Seoul.
Industry sources said on the 3rd that this was the second time the event had been held, following last year’s event in New York, United States. Under the theme “Research into Skin Longevity Through Ginseng Science,” the symposium analyzed skin aging from the perspective of declining cellular function and discussed “cell identity,” which helps maintain and restore healthy cellular function.
Kang Se-won, a professor of dermatology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine who delivered the keynote address, examined skin aging from the perspective of “loss of cellular identity.” Yuan Xiang, a professor at West China Hospital of Sichuan University, outlined various factors in aging, including genetic changes, and the potential for research using artificial intelligence and synthetic biology. Yuan Chao, a professor at Shanghai Skin Disease Hospital, shared an integrated approach to skin longevity based on research related to Ginsenomics, Amorepacific Corporation’s patented technology.
Findings from the joint research being conducted by Amorepacific Corporation and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine under the New Beauty Research Initiative (NBRI) were also presented. Professor Martin Alphonse discussed the relationship between Limphanax, an ingredient exclusive to Amorepacific Corporation, and skin immunity. Professor Anna Chien presented research findings on Red Flavonoid, another ingredient exclusive to Amorepacific Corporation.
Amorepacific Corporation outlined how it has expanded ginseng research into the new area of “cell identity.” Dr. Park Won-seok of Amorepacific Corporation’s Research & Innovation (R&I) Center shared a study analyzing the effects of Ginsenomics on changes in skin cell identity under ultraviolet exposure, and proposed the restoration of cell identity as a new direction for ginseng-based skin longevity research.
An Amorepacific Corporation representative said, “We will continue to explore the principles of skin aging based on six decades of accumulated ginseng science and global collaborative research, and to build scientific evidence for maintaining and restoring healthy skin function.”
