[Financial News] The Korea Real Estate Board is conducting hands-on training in Seumter, the building administration system, for local government officials nationwide. It plans to prepare for the launch of a new application service related to illegal buildings and improve the quality of building data that will serve as a foundation for AI use.
The Korea Real Estate Board said on the 3rd that its “2026 Second-Half Seumter User Training” is being held across five regions nationwide from the 2nd through the 6th. The Board, which operates Seumter on behalf of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), expanded the training this year to twice annually, once in each half of the year.
The training focuses on practical, on-the-ground work, including building registers and management of illegal buildings, personal information protection, linking computerized records, use of statistics, and guidance on handling public service requests.
It will also explain the procedures for handling a service request provisionally named “Application for Legalization of Specified Buildings,” which is scheduled to be introduced on Seumter. The measure is based on MOLIT’s “Measures for the Rational Management of Illegal Buildings” and is intended to reduce confusion at public service counters before the system is implemented.
Training on improving the quality of building-register data will also be conducted. It will support efforts to improve the accuracy and reliability of building-administration information and secure the foundational data needed for AI use in the building sector.
Kim Nam-seong, head of the Housing Supply Support Division, said, “We will spare no effort in providing training and support so that fast and accurate digital building administration can take hold in the field.”
