“It’s not over until it’s over”...Shinsegae Group stages last-minute SSG Day discount event

[Financial News] Shinsegae Group is rolling out additional discounts to capture late-stage customer demand for SSG Day, its biggest shopping event of the year.
According to industry sources on the 3rd, Shinsegae Group is holding a range of discount events through the 8th, including SSG Day Clearance, with major group affiliates taking part. The events will feature limited-quantity deals and additional discounts through online and offline retail channels.
Emart will first hold its “Fill Your Snack Box” event from the 5th through the 7th, allowing shoppers to fill a designated box with as many snacks as they like. Popular Crown Confectionery products, including Jolly Pong, Caramel Corn Peanut, Corncho and Corn Chips, are included. From the 5th through the 8th, the store will also hold the unlimited-fill event for potatoes and carrots. Over the same period, a range of products, including fresh and processed foods and digital appliances, will be discounted by up to 50%.
Through the 8th, Traders will offer discounts on popular T Standard private-label products, including olive oil and frozen blueberries. Emart Everyday will also discount fresh foods such as apples, sweet potatoes and fresh oysters, as well as essential household goods, by up to 50%.
Shinsegae Department Store will hold SSG Day Clearance from the 6th through the 8th, with deals on fashion, beauty, appliances and food. It will discount products from sports brands such as Eider, Nike and Adidas, as well as menswear brands including HAZZYS and Barbour. Shinsegae Simon will offer discounts on winter outerwear and customer appreciation promotions at its premium outlets nationwide.
Online affiliates are also joining the discount race. Shinsegae Live Shopping will discount key products, including fashion and ready-to-eat foods, by up to 77%, while Shinsegae Casa will offer discounts of up to 80% on furniture and household goods, including sofas, beds and tables, at the Casamia online mall.
Gmarket will offer discounts of up to 62% on branded PCs through Big Smile Day. It will also feature special prices on gaming and regular laptops, as well as food, beauty products and domestic and international travel packages. Fashion platform W Concept is also holding a clearance event, with discounts of up to 92% on fashion accessories and refurbished home appliance and digital products.
Emart24 will discount five types of premium wine by up to 40%. The products themselves are in good condition, but their packaging labels have minor scratches or stains.
A Shinsegae Group spokesperson said, “Since the first day of SSG Day, customers have continued to rush to major stores such as Emart as soon as they open. The Blooming Market pop-up store currently running at Starfield Hanam has also drawn more than 5,000 visitors in three days, showing the strong interest from the outset. We will continue to offer discounts during the remaining days and bring shoppers the enjoyment of shopping that they can experience only at SSG Day, right through to the end.”
