[Financial News] BTS’s world tour concerts in Kaohsiung and Jakarta will be screened in theaters around the world.
On the 2nd, BTS announced via the global fan platform Weverse the live-viewing schedule for the Kaohsiung and Jakarta concerts on their ARIRANG world tour. The screenings will feature the second-day Kaohsiung concert on the 21st and the third-day Jakarta concert on December 29.
The screenings will take place in around 80 countries and regions worldwide. The Kaohsiung concert will be available on around 3,300 screens, and the Jakarta concert on around 2,800. In South Korea, they will be screened by CJ CGV, Lotte Cinema, and MEGABOX.
Depending on regional time differences, the concerts will either be broadcast live or shown in recorded broadcasts within one to two days after the performances. Tickets go on sale on the 5th, at 10 a.m. in South Korea and 10 p.m. overseas, Korea time.
Live viewing is a service that lets audiences watch concerts together through a theater’s large screen and sound system. Earlier on this tour, concerts in Goyang, Busan, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo were screened in theaters.
BTS drew 850,000 people in South America
BTS sold out all 14 concerts held in five South American cities last month, drawing a total audience of 853,000. The South American leg began on the 2nd of last month in Bogotá, Colombia, and continued through Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; and Buenos Aires, Argentina, before wrapping up on the 28th and 30th–31st at Morumbi Stadium in São Paulo, Brazil.
They performed as a full group in Colombia and Argentina for the first time, and visited Peru for the first time since their debut. The concerts in Chile and Brazil came after gaps of nine and seven years, respectively. They performed songs from their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, as well as signature hits including “Fake Love,” “Mic Drop,” “IDOL,” “Butter,” and “Dynamite.” They varied some of their song selections from show to show and communicated with audiences in local languages.
As they wrapped up their South American tour, the members said, “Since it’s hard to meet often in South America, this was one of the stops we were most looking forward to.” They added, “One of the happiest memories of my life was made here. I’ll cherish this memory and go back.”
Meanwhile, BTS will continue their tour with 15 concerts in five Asian cities, starting in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on the 19th, followed by Bangkok, Thailand; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Singapore; and Jakarta, Indonesia. The Kaohsiung concerts will be held on the 19th and 21st–22nd of this month, and the Jakarta concerts on December 26–27 and 29.
