[Financial News] Personal information on 168 passengers aboard Code One, the presidential aircraft, was reportedly exposed online for an extended period when President Lee Jae-myung traveled overseas last June to attend the Group of Seven (G7) Summit. The Blue House said on the 2nd that it had learned of the matter in advance and taken the necessary response measures.
A Blue House official said in a notice to the press that “after becoming aware of the reports in advance, we took response measures, and the Foreign Ministry and other agencies plan to take further action.”
KBS earlier reported that a list of Code One passengers, believed to have been compiled for the G7 Summit trip last June, had been posted on a paid website related to security for about five months.
The material reportedly contained information on a total of 168 people, including President Lee Jae-myung and his wife; Bae Kyung-hoon, deputy prime minister and minister of science and ICT; Foreign Minister Cho Hyun; Wi Sung-lac, head of the Blue House Office of National Security; other aides; employees of the Presidential Security Service; and reporters assigned to cover the Blue House who accompanied the trip. It reportedly included not only their affiliations and positions but also information such as dates of birth and passport numbers.
The list was found to have been posted starting on June 2, a week before the trip departed. Security concerns have also been raised because it included the identities of security personnel and medical staff who accompany the president at close quarters.
