【Financial News | Hongcheon = Kim Gi-seop, reporter】Ahead of the National Assembly’s budget review, Hongcheon County Governor Shin Young-jae visited Lee Kwang-jae, chair of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, and asked that funding be included for key local projects omitted from the government’s proposal, including construction of the Antibody Industry Business Center.
Hongcheon County said on the 2nd that Shin visited the National Assembly that day, explained to Chair Lee why local priorities and pledged projects left out of next year’s government budget proposal were urgent, and asked for support to secure increases during parliamentary deliberations. He then met in turn with Yoo Sang-bum, secretary of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, and Heo Young, a member of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, sharing the need to move the projects forward and seeking their cooperation.

The projects proposed by the county include improvements to National Route 56 between Gun-eop and Jangpyeong (500 million won), construction of the Antibody Industry Business Center (5 billion won), and a new liquid manure processing facility at the Eco-Friendly Energy Town (2.8 billion won). All are intended to lay the groundwork for the region’s future growth. The county plans to continue working to secure funding in coordination with local lawmakers and relevant agencies, in line with the National Assembly’s budget review schedule.
Governor Shin Young-jae said, “Projects such as the Antibody Industry Business Center and improvements to National Route 56 are a foundation for Hongcheon’s growth and long-awaited priorities for county residents. I will work tirelessly until the final vote to ensure that funding omitted from the government’s proposal can be restored during the National Assembly’s review.”
