【Financial News, Wonju = Kim Gi-seop, reporter】Wonju Medical Industry Technovalley will join five beauty medical device companies from Wonju to set up a Gangwon joint pavilion at Cosmoprof Asia 2026 in Hong Kong, Asia’s largest beauty trade show, and seek to attract overseas buyers.
According to the institute on the 2nd, the Gangwon joint pavilion will be set up with Gangwon State and Wonju-si at Hall 3E of the Hong Kong exhibition venue from the 11th to the 13th. Participating companies are Nyupong (ultrasonic beauty devices), Daeyang Medical Equipment (beauty devices and cosmetics), Mediccon (ultrasonic beauty devices), M-Cure (automatic needle injectors), and Hyundai Meditech (medical sutures and cosmetics), all of which are based in Wonju.
The companies will showcase a range of products, from professional equipment used in hospitals and skin care clinics to home-care beauty devices, skincare products, and lifting threads. They also plan to exhibit products featuring polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) and exosomes, skin-regeneration ingredients that have recently gained popularity in the beauty market.
Cosmoprof Asia is a trade show focused on business-to-business transactions that draws beauty industry professionals from around the world. This year, around 2,900 companies are expected to participate, with more than 78,000 visitors anticipated. Hong Kong is a business hub for expanding into the Asia-Pacific market. Its home-care beauty market has grown since the pandemic, and Korea is considered one of Hong Kong’s major sources of beauty device imports. The institute plans to identify local buyers in advance and share their information with participating companies, then use its buyer database and the trade show’s business-matching program to attract visitors to the joint pavilion.
“In Hong Kong, where demand for at-home skin care has grown since the pandemic, Korean beauty devices have already become a major import,” said Kim Young-sung, head of Wonju Medical Industry Technovalley. “We will make full use of the buyer data the institute has built up and its local matching program to help Wonju companies establish direct business relationships with global distributors.”
