[Financial News] Woori Financial Group’s Woori Financial Future Foundation shared warmth by delivering briquettes to 525 households in the Seoul metropolitan area. Young adults preparing for independent living and group employees personally delivered 105,000 briquettes, easing the heating burden on vulnerable households.
According to financial industry sources on the 2nd, Jong-ryong Yim, chairman of the Woori Financial Future Foundation, visited Jeonggeum Village in Dongjak District, Seoul, on the 30th of last month with 40 people, including members of a volunteer group of young adults preparing for independent living and employees responsible for social contribution work at group affiliates, to take part in a briquette-delivery volunteer event.
This was the first activity in the “2026 Sharing Briquettes of Love” project. The volunteer group delivered 2,000 briquettes to ease the heating burden on energy-vulnerable households during the winter.
Since 2022, the Woori Financial Future Foundation has held annual briquette-sharing volunteer activities to help energy-vulnerable households get through the winter.
Meanwhile, the Woori Financial Future Foundation continues to support self-reliance and growth among vulnerable groups. It is carrying out a range of social contribution projects, including Goodwill Store, which creates jobs for people with developmental disabilities, and Woori Sigak, a program supporting artists with developmental disabilities.
