[Financial News]  Visually impaired YouTuber Oneshot Hansol (whose real name is Kim Hansol) shared his experience of receiving help from station staff and members of the public when he traveled alone by train to Daejeon for the first time in 10 years. A video showed him thanking the people who helped him along the way.
On the 29th of last month, a video titled “I Went All the Way to Daejeon Alone to Buy My Girlfriend a Gift, and Then This Happened. It Brings Me to Tears” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Oneshot Hansol.”
Oneshot Hansol planned a trip to Daejeon to buy a gift for his girlfriend and booked a train ticket with help from a producer. He then filmed his journey to Daejeon without a companion.
He received help from a member of the public as soon as he took the subway to get to Seoul Station. A passenger offered a seat to Oneshot Hansol, who was standing in a crowded carriage.
He said, “There were a lot of people just now, so I was standing in a corner, but someone offered me a seat and I was able to sit down. Thank you. Still, Seoul Station is relatively easy for me because I have the route memorized.”
It was the first time in 10 years that Oneshot Hansol had traveled by train alone. A station employee guided him, allowing him to board safely and find his assigned seat.
Oneshot Hansol described the station employee’s assistance, saying, “I boarded safely. Since I’m visually impaired, if I ask, they guide me, so I can get to my seat.”
Help continued after he arrived in Daejeon. Station staff, social service workers and members of the public helped Oneshot Hansol get around. At the famous bakery Sungsimdang, employees approached him first and asked if he needed help. With their guidance, he was able to buy bread and cake at the shop.
Oneshot Hansol said “Thank you” several times to the people who helped him during his trip. As he headed to Daejeon Station to go home, he also expressed his gratitude to a station employee, saying, “I’m sorry, and thank you.”
He then boarded the return train safely and said, “Thanks to everyone’s help, I made it safely to the train station.”
Meanwhile, as Oneshot Hansol’s travel video has gained attention, a video of a KTX disembarking accident posted by YouTuber Park Wi last August has also drawn renewed interest.
Park Wi posted on his YouTube channel CCTV footage showing a wheelchair tipping over as he got off a KTX train. The footage showed the accident occurring when a wheelchair wheel caught on the foot of a social service worker who was holding a ramp in place for passengers to disembark.
Afterward, an online controversy arose over how the accident happened and the circumstances at the time. Some people also said the video could be interpreted as Park Wi criticizing the social service worker’s actions.
The video of Oneshot Hansol’s trip to Daejeon, released on October 29, had recorded 3.3 million views as of the morning of November 2.
