KDB Infrastructure Asset Management cited responding to the NPS’s demand for alternative investments as the reason for opening the office. The move is intended to strengthen its local presence.
According to KDB Infrastructure Asset Management, asset managers have recently continued opening offices in Jeonju, with the NPS at the center, strengthening the city’s position as a financial hub. A total of 40 financial institutions are reported to have opened offices in Jeonju to date. Opportunities for exchanges and investment cooperation among financial institutions are also expanding.
KDB Infrastructure Asset Management said, “The opening of this office is significant in that it will strengthen communication with the NPS while establishing a base for local operations as a manager specializing in alternative investments.”
KDB Infra is an asset management company established in 2003 and specializing in alternative investments, including social overhead capital (SOC), energy and overseas infrastructure. The Jeonju office is the company’s first regional office since its establishment. Drawing on its expertise in domestic and international infrastructure and energy, KDB Infra plans to assess investment opportunities across various alternative asset classes and offer tailored investment strategies that take into account each asset’s characteristics and risk-return profile. It aims to present investment alternatives that meet the NPS’s needs for long-term investment and portfolio diversification.
In addition, the company plans to leverage collaboration with external financial institutions and business partners, including KDB, to enhance its ability to identify investment opportunities, and to expand exchanges with financial institutions that have entered Jeonju, helping revitalize the local financial ecosystem.
Park Sang-jin, chairman of KDB, said, “The opening of KDB Infra’s Jeonju office is a meaningful first step toward establishing an ongoing cooperation framework with the NPS and laying the groundwork for Jeonbuk’s financial ecosystem. KDB will also expand communication with local communities and fulfill its role in fostering future industries.”
Lee Jun-seong, CEO of KDB Infra, said, “We will actively leverage our expertise in alternative investments to offer differentiated investment strategies that meet the NPS’s investment needs. Using the Jeonju office as a base, we will explore various investment cooperation opportunities and make this a springboard for a new leap forward.”
