[Financial News] KOLON BENIT, an AI transformation (AX) specialist company of Kolon Group, is expanding its customer-tailored IoT platform business based on its in-house Multi IoT Platform.
According to KOLON BENIT on the 2nd, the platform goes beyond connecting devices by bringing customers’ services and services from external partners together on a single platform. It recently expanded the platform’s application into lifestyle services by building Shinwon General Development’s smart-home platform, “Achimdoshi ON.” Shinwon General Development is a construction company engaged in housing and urban renewal projects, centered on its apartment brand, “Achimdoshi.”
Customer needs in the IoT market have recently shifted from connecting devices to connecting services. Companies want to operate devices from various manufacturers, their own systems and external services on a single platform, and offer them as services under their own brand.
The “Achimdoshi ON” smart-home platform for Shinwon General Development, recently built by KOLON BENIT, is an example of these multi-IoT platform capabilities in action. In addition to controlling in-home IoT devices such as lighting and heating and cooling systems, and connecting smart appliances, Achimdoshi ON brings together complex-wide services—including management fee inquiries, parking and community facility reservations—in one app. It also connects concierge services provided through partnerships with external companies, such as cleaning services, broadening the role of smart homes beyond device control to cover everyday services. Designed to provide continuous support from after-sales service requests before move-in through assistance with daily living after move-in, the platform is slated for a phased rollout, starting with new complexes whose move-ins begin after the middle of this month.
KOLON BENIT has experience and specialized personnel in planning, building and operating customer-specific IoT platforms across a range of industries, including construction and housing, as well as manufacturing and electronics. The Multi IoT Platform is designed to connect devices and services from different providers, along with other partner services, on a single platform. It creates tailored platforms by adding customer-specific requirements to standardized service-development infrastructure. Its cloud-based design allows each service to scale independently, making it possible to add features and services flexibly even after deployment.
KOLON BENIT Executive Director Park Chan-jeong said, “The competitiveness of an IoT platform depends not on the number of connected devices, but on how flexibly it can connect and expand the services customers need,” adding, “Drawing on our capabilities in building and operating IoT platforms across industries, we will support customers in continuing to grow their own services on the platform.”
