[Financial News, Jeonju = Reporter Kang In] Jeonbuk Police Agency has set an example by achieving the nation’s fastest processing time for 112 emergency calls.
Jeonbuk Police Agency held a commemorative ceremony on the 2nd to mark 112 Day, attended by staff from the 112 Comprehensive Situation Room and others.
112 Day commemorates the launch of the police emergency reporting system in 1957.
Jeonbuk Police Agency improved its 112 call response system this year, achieving meaningful results. By reducing unnecessary processing time after receiving 112 calls and strengthening its rapid on-site response system, it ranked first nationwide in the time taken to process reports.
It also conducted quality assessments of recorded call files and case-based training, and strengthened its ability to handle calls with empathy. As a result, residents’ satisfaction with the handling of 112 calls rose significantly.
In response to false and malicious repeated calls, the agency pursued a range of measures—including strict law enforcement, operating a solutions team, and coordinating with relevant organizations—to reduce the waste of police resources.
Shin Hyo-seob, chief of Jeonbuk Police Agency, said, “The swift, accurate judgment and responsible response of staff in the 112 Situation Room are the starting point for protecting residents’ lives and safety.” Shin Hyo-seob added, “We will do our utmost to ensure that Jeonbuk Police are the first agency residents can turn to with confidence in an emergency.”
