[Financial News] Samsung Electro-Mechanics President Jang Deok-hyun called for the execution capabilities needed to turn component demand driven by increased investment in AI servers and data centers into business results as the company marked its 53rd anniversary, emphasizing that “an unprecedented opportunity for large-scale growth has been presented” at this moment.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics said it held a ceremony marking its 53rd anniversary at its Suwon campus on the 2nd, attended by President Jang, executives and employees.
In his commemorative address, Jang said, “The AI industry is now only at January 1,” adding, “With the expansion of AI servers and data centers driving a sharp increase in demand for key components and the level of technical difficulty, we have been given an unprecedented opportunity for large-scale growth across our core businesses, including multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and package substrates.”
Jang continued, “Samsung Electro-Mechanics has global partnerships, a unrivaled product portfolio and proven production capabilities, so the key now is ‘execution’ (Execution).” He urged employees, “Let’s demonstrate our execution capabilities in every area, including development, production, quality, and safety and environmental management, and make sure we turn the opportunities before us into results.”
Jang also identified a shift in how people work as a key task.
Jang said, “AI technology is fundamentally redefining the way humans work,” and asked, “All employees, use your own specialized AI agent to streamline simple, repetitive tasks and focus your capabilities on more creative, valuable core work.” The company plans to pursue both external business opportunities arising from the spread of AI and greater efficiency in its internal operations.
The ceremony also included awards for long-serving employees and top-performing teams in the company’s AI hackathon. The winning teams had identified challenges with practical applications, such as optimizing manufacturing processes and automating tasks.
