SBI Savings Bank starts afresh as 'Kyobo SBI Savings Bank' with 'digital innovation'

[Financial News] SBI Savings Bank has changed its name to Kyobo SBI Savings Bank and relaunched. The plan is to combine Kyobo's trusted reputation with SBI's digital innovation capabilities and become a leading digital financial company in Korea.
According to financial industry sources on the 2nd, Kyobo SBI Savings Bank began officially using its new name on the 1st. Before that, it held a ceremony announcing the name change at the Kyobo Life Building in Gwanghwamun, Jongno District, Seoul, on the 30th of last month, marking a fresh start. Around 300 people, including employees and prominent guests, attended the event and shared the company's vision for the future.
The ceremony began with commemorative remarks by CEO Kim Moon-seok, followed by an unveiling ceremony for the new corporate identity (CI) and a Junior Board speech, among other events.
In his remarks, CEO Kim said, "Trust and innovation, values centered on people, and challenges aimed at the future are important." He added, "Drawing on SBI's pioneering spirit of opening up markets through the combination of finance and technology and its DNA of digital innovation, as well as Kyobo's reputation for earning customers' trust and its sincerity toward people, we will become a financial company that customers are more satisfied with and can trust, and a digital financial company that leads Korea."
CEO Kim went on to emphasize, "We must firmly uphold the fundamentals of savings banks: providing financial support to ordinary people and small and medium-sized businesses, and maintaining trust." He added, "We must lead change in the rapidly evolving financial environment by using digital technology and taking bold steps."
The Junior Board speech presented the company's vision for the future, centered on trust and innovation. Employees shared their vision of growing into the country's most trusted financial partner for ordinary people and a top-tier digital savings bank.
To mark its name change and official launch, Kyobo SBI Savings Bank has also organized events for customers. It plans to hold street promotional campaigns near branches nationwide, including in Seoul's Euljiro and Gwanghwamun areas, and offer various customer benefits, such as special offers on fixed-term installment savings accounts.
