Celltrion Pharm said on the 2nd that Yuflyma 40 mg prefilled syringe (PFS-S), an autoimmune disease treatment containing adalimumab, was added to the national health insurance reimbursement list on the 1st and had begun sales in Korea.
PFS-S is a product that uses a syringe prefilled with medication and fitted with a safety device that covers the needle after administration. By reducing the needle’s exposure after injection, it helps prevent needlestick injuries among healthcare workers and enables safer handling.
The product is also competitively priced. The price of the 40 mg PFS-S is 220,390 won per dose, at the lowest price level among products with the same active ingredient and strength covered by insurance in Korea. Patients can now choose between this and the existing pen-type product based on their circumstances and preferences for administration.
The product lineup will continue to expand. Celltrion Pharm plans to launch an additional Yuflyma 20 mg PFS in 2027. With the addition of a lower-dose product, the company will have a lineup covering the strengths and formulations available for the originator drug.
A Celltrion Pharm representative said, “For patients receiving long-term treatment, not only the cost-effectiveness of the medication but also its method of administration and ease of handling after use are important factors,” adding, “We will address the treatment needs of patients and healthcare professionals with a diverse product lineup.”
