[Financial News] Next Securities CEO Kim Seung-yeon will remain in the role through 2028.
Next Securities said on the 2nd that its board approved Kim’s reappointment at a meeting on the 14th of last month. The new term is for two years, starting on the 29th of last month.
After working at global companies including Google and TikTok, Kim served as CEO of Toss Securities before joining Next Securities as CEO in October 2024.
Since taking office for the first term, Kim has led efforts to add an AI- and video content-based retail business to a business structure previously centered on derivatives brokerage. During the new term, the plan is to focus on launching retail services and operating them stably.
Next Securities plans to roll out retail services for individual investors in phases, starting with an open API service and including a mobile trading system (MTS) and other offerings.
Meanwhile, Next Securities began in 1997 as Hyundai Futures and has focused on derivatives brokerage and investment banking (IB). After changing its name to Next Securities in December 2024, it has maintained its existing businesses while preparing to enter the retail business.
