【Financial News Gyeongju = Kim Jang-wook, reporter】“Following the ‘Gyeongju Art Pass,’ this time it’s the ‘Gyeongju Noodle Pass’!”
The Gyeongsangbuk-do Culture and Tourism Organization (the “Organization”) has launched the Gyeongju Noodle Pass, a new food tourism product linking Gyeongju’s distinctive noodle dishes with its major tourist attractions, and is selling it online through the 30th.
The Gyeongju Noodle Pass combines signature dishes from noodle restaurants in Gyeongju with an admission ticket to Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, one of the city’s must-see nighttime attractions.
The combined tourism product is offered at up to 37% off the regular price. It was created to ease travel costs while fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with local small businesses and boosting tourism spending.
President Kim Nam-il stressed, “The Gyeongju Noodle Pass is a product that delivers tangible travel benefits by combining the region’s distinctive culinary resources with key tourism attractions. We plan to roll out a series of food tourism products reflecting the character of different areas of Gyeongsangbuk-do, including the East Sea coast rail-linked Rail Cafe Pass, the Sea Food Pass, the Traditional Market Long-Established Restaurant Pass, and the Andong Fresh Galbi Pass.”
He also said, “We ask for your interest and support for the 2026 K-Silk Road Food Festival—Noodle Festa, which will be held around Gyeongju APEC Memorial Park from the 14th to the 15th.”
Five of Gyeongju’s leading noodle restaurants are taking part in the product: Gungnim Bajirak Kalguksu, Gyochon Sambaeknyeon-jip, Bomun Milmyeon, Cheommi, and Kuudong. Depending on their preferences, visitors can choose and enjoy one of 10 packages, each combining signature dishes from two of the five restaurants with an admission ticket to Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond.
The product is available through major online channels, including KakaoTalk Shopping, Coupang, Gmarket, Auction, 11st, Yeogi Eottae, Gyeongbuk Travel Mall, Tour054, and Naver Smart Store.
Once payment is complete, a mobile ticket will be sent via KakaoTalk, which visitors can simply present at the venue to use.
The Organization plans to begin with a trial run involving the five participating businesses, then gradually expand its partner restaurants based on tastings and its own selection criteria.
Meanwhile, the Organization launched the Gyeongju Art Pass last year, allowing visitors to see four major cultural and arts facilities in downtown Gyeongju with a single ticket. It proved very popular.
Kwon Dong-mi, head of the domestic marketing team, said, “The Gyeongju Art Pass is also on sale through the 30th. By using the two products together, visitors can enjoy a rich autumn trip that takes in Gyeongju’s food and its culture and arts.”
