[Financial News] Korea Investment & Securities has launched a major overhaul of its mobile trading system (MTS) to make investing more convenient for customers.
It has introduced a feature that lets users view assets in their pension savings and individual retirement pension (IRP) accounts together, and expanded its services so users can manage watchlists, reinvest dividends and check investment information for their children’s accounts all within the app.
Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of Korea Investment Holdings, said on the 2nd that it had updated its MTS app, “Korea Investment.” The revamp focuses on streamlining the process from finding investment information to executing trades, based on actual customer usage data.
The most notable change is the new feature for viewing pension assets together. Previously, users had to navigate to separate menus to check pension assets held across accounts such as pension savings and IRP accounts. With this update, they can view their pension assets by type at a glance in the “My” tab on the home screen.
The frequently used watchlist screen has also been revamped. Customers can choose between “Simple View” and “Detailed View” based on their investing experience and information needs. Simple View centers on key information, while Detailed View provides information such as trading volume and trading value.
The quote-checking and stock-management features have also been improved. Users can now check current and estimated prices in sequence, and more easily distinguish stocks available for premarket and after-hours trading.
Switching between watchlist groups has been simplified with an icon at the top of the screen. For overseas stocks, company logos and ticker symbols are displayed next to stock names to make them easier to identify. Users can also select a watchlist group or create a new one while searching for stocks. The previous screen will remain available alongside the new one for the time being to give customers time to adjust.
The dividend reinvestment and stock-accumulation services have also been enhanced. The “My Dividends” screen now lets users link stocks that have paid them dividends directly to the stock-accumulation service.
Drawing on usage data for its fractional-share and whole-share accumulation services for domestic and U.S. stocks, the company is also providing information on stocks and ETFs that other customers are accumulating most. The goal is to make it easier for investors to explore reinvestment options after receiving dividends and proceed to an actual purchase.
A new “Children’s Stock Trends” service has also been launched for customers who use accounts in their children’s names. It provides information on stocks commonly held in children’s accounts and other key investment details, giving parents a reference when choosing investments for their children.
A “Shareholder Posts Only” filter has also been added to the stock discussion board, allowing users to view only posts by customers who own the stock in question. The audio service for exclusive global research content now highlights the sentence currently being read. The bond screen has been simplified to focus on key information such as maturity dates and interest payment dates.
The brokerage-type individual savings account (ISA) now includes an automatic repurchase agreement (RP) purchase feature. The company said this makes it possible to automatically invest idle funds in the account, making it more convenient for customers to manage their money.
A Korea Investment & Securities representative said, “We focused on improving our services so customers can easily and conveniently turn the diverse investment information they encounter in their daily lives into actual investments,” adding, “We will continue to reflect customers’ usage patterns and needs to reduce inconvenience in the investment process and provide a more intuitive and convenient investing environment.”
