This year's event was designed as an open festival where people could take part and have fun alongside the local community, giving it added significance.
A key feature was that, from the planning stage, the university put together programs that local residents could enjoy without any pressure, with the aim of making its campus an open space to be shared with the community.
Promotional and hands-on activity booths involving a total of 22 university administrative departments, outside organizations, student clubs and others were set up during the festival, along with a variety of related events.
Each booth offered activities, attractions and food for people of all ages, drawing not only students but also visitors coming with their families.
The evening cultural events featured a celebratory performance by the invited singer and performances by student clubs, as well as a song festival held with local residents, building the festival's excitement to a fever pitch.
Programs organized to promote mutual growth with the local community drew an enthusiastic response. The retro game consoles and the Haeyangi Four-Cut Photo Booth attracted a steady stream of visitors.
The university plans to use this festival as an opportunity to continue expanding its ties with local residents and strengthen its role as an open university that grows alongside the community.
Korea Maritime & Ocean University President Ryoo Dong Keun said, "I'm glad this festival, which opened the university's doors wide and brought it into close contact with the local community, has concluded successfully," adding, "I will do my utmost to create a model for growing together in a mutually beneficial relationship with the community."
