[Financial News] Lotte Mall Dong Busan said on the 2nd that it had renovated its rooftop garden and would unveil a multipurpose retreat where visitors can enjoy the calm of nature alongside shopping.
The renovated rooftop garden features three themed areas: Garden Lounge, Cosmos Photo Zone, and Santorini Garden. Autumn flowers, landscaping, and visitor amenities are arranged harmoniously to offer visitors a seasonal atmosphere and a distinctive experience of the space.
Garden Lounge is a garden-style resting area created using the existing 495 sq. m. (about 150 pyeong) artificial-turf area on the rooftop, and features planters with seasonal flowers and tables with parasols. The Cosmos Photo Zone, created from seeds sown on site, features a small path winding through the flower beds, where families and couples can stroll and take photos with the autumn scenery as a backdrop. Santorini Garden, which first opened last July, adds an exotic attraction with its Mediterranean-style design and landscaping that captures the feel of the season.
Recreational and cultural offerings for families have also been added. Whale Island, a whale-themed children’s play area spanning 661 sq. m. (about 200 pyeong) within the rooftop garden, is connected with Sea Library, an outdoor reading space, so parents can relax, read, and unwind while their children use the play equipment.
With this renovation, Lotte Mall Dong Busan has connected the third-floor restaurant area with the rooftop garden, allowing shopping and dining, rest and play to flow naturally along a single route.
“This rooftop garden renovation was planned to go beyond simply improving the landscaping and give customers a chance to take a brief break while shopping and experience the changing seasons,” said Choi Hyeong-mo, head of the Dong Busan branch.
