[Financial News] Tous les Jours is supporting the expansion of export channels for Korean grape growers by introducing new menu items made with Korean Shine Muscat grapes in the U.S.
According to industry sources on the 2nd, CJ Foodville, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA), the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), and the Korea Grape Export Association, will introduce seasonal limited-edition items made with Korean Shine Muscat grapes at five Tous les Jours company-operated stores in the eastern and western United States.
The initiative was designed to support export channels for domestic grape growers, based on the identity of K-bakery, and to promote the quality of Korean grapes to U.S. consumers.
Through the 30th, Tous les Jours will sell three seasonal bakery items made with Korean Shine Muscat grapes for about a month: Shine Muscat Paradise Cake, Shine Muscat Yogurt Croissant, and Shine Muscat Vanilla Danish. During the promotion, customers who spend at least a certain amount, including on the new items, at any of the five company-operated stores will receive a fresh “Shine Muscat Cup.”
On the 29th of last month, when sales first began, all the prepared quantities of the Shine Muscat Yogurt Croissant and Shine Muscat Vanilla Danish sold out within five hours of the stores opening, winning an enthusiastic response from local customers from the outset.
Tous les Jours plans to leverage its brand recognition and store network in the U.S. to showcase the potential of combining Korean grapes with bakery products and broaden the ways domestic agricultural products reach overseas consumers. Based on the event’s sales and consumer response, it will consider whether to add the items to its regular menu.
A CJ Foodville representative said, “This initiative aims to leverage Tous les Jours’ global business capabilities built on its K-bakery foundation to introduce the quality of Korean grapes to overseas consumers,” adding, “We will continue to seek mutually beneficial initiatives that enable businesses and farms to grow together.”
