[Financial News] Kolmar Korea won two awards at the Productivity and Sustainable Management Innovation Awards.
Industry sources said on the 2nd that Kolmar Korea received a Presidential Commendation for contributions to sustainable management, while Vice President Lee Young-joo received one for contributions to productivity improvement at the 2026 Korea Productivity and Sustainable Management Innovation Awards, held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 29th.
The Innovation Awards is an event hosted by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and organized by the Korea Productivity Center (KPC), which presents government awards to individuals or organizations that have contributed to industrial sustainability and productivity innovation. The National Productivity Awards and the Sustainable Management Contributions event were combined and held for the first time this year.
Kolmar Korea was recognized for embedding all aspects of environmental, social and governance (ESG) into its management. It was praised for improving sustainability throughout its supply chain, drawing on its original development manufacturing (ODM) business model, which connects client companies and partner companies.
Kolmar Korea practices environmental management across its business and supply chain, including by developing eco-friendly packaging and products, responding to climate change, providing ESG training for partner companies, and supporting the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions. It is also pursuing human rights impact assessments for employees, stronger safety management systems, and activities to support mutually beneficial relations with local communities. The company incorporates key issues into its management system through its ESG committee.
In the productivity improvement category, Kolmar Korea Vice President Lee Young-joo, who heads the production division, received a Presidential Commendation. Lee was recognized for leading digital transformation (DT), production automation and logistics innovation as the executive in charge of Kolmar Korea’s production division, and for establishing a production system to respond to the expansion of K-beauty exports.
Meanwhile, in November last year, Kolmar Korea was selected for the second consecutive year as the only Korean cosmetics company on the list of “World’s Best Sustainable Growth Companies” published by the U.S. weekly news magazine TIME. Since 2023, it has also received an A grade for three consecutive years in ESG assessments by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS).
A Kolmar Korea representative said, “This award is the result of our company-wide efforts, as Korea’s first cosmetics ODM company, to make sustainability in the K-beauty industry a core management value,” adding, “We will continue to lead sustainable industrial development through more advanced ESG management and production innovation.”
