[Financial News] HL Group has made its 2026 executive appointments in line with its “Disruption” policy of breaking with the existing mold. It plans to overhaul its companywide organizational structure and accelerate management innovation.
According to HL Group on the 2nd, President Park Youngmoon was appointed CEO of HL Mando and head of its Auto Sector. Senior Executive Vice President Bae Hong-yong will serve as chief technology officer (CTO), heading the research organization.
HL Mando is shifting to a region-centered organization. The aim is to simplify its three pillars—product, function and region—to two—region and function—and thereby speed up decision-making and business execution.
The regional representative system has also changed. In addition to the existing representatives for China, the Americas, India and Europe, the company has added a representative for Korea to strengthen accountable management.
Young leaders have been tapped as CEO of HL Holdings’ business division and CEO of HL Ecotech. Executive Vice President Song Ki-taek, who previously headed the integrated logistics business division, has become CEO of HL Holdings’ business division, while Managing Director Yoo Jae-eon, who oversaw HR at HL D&I Halla, has become CEO of HL Ecotech. They will be responsible for improving the performance of existing businesses and building a robust business portfolio.
The group is also strengthening its future growth strategy. HL Group has created a new “Head of Group Strategy” position and appointed Senior Executive Vice President Jeong Jae-young to the role.
An HL Group representative said, “We appointed people who can respond nimbly to changes in the global business environment as CEOs of our affiliates, and placed emphasis on strengthening competitiveness in our core businesses and securing future growth engines.” The representative added, “We will refine the strategic direction of the group and its affiliates, identify new businesses, and explore new value chains.”
