[Financial News] Influencer Haeeun Sung is taking part in a regular donation campaign to improve living conditions for children overseas.
World Vision, an international relief and development NGO, said it is launching the “Give a Bright Day” campaign with Haeeun Sung starting on the 2nd. The campaign provides clean water, adequate nutrition and educational opportunities, and helps communities become self-reliant.
The campaign was conceived to lay the groundwork for children living in difficult conditions to live safely and realize their potential. As a campaign model, Haeeun Sung will convey messages about a better everyday life and future for children, using “light in everyday life” as its theme.
The donations will be used for World Vision’s overseas community development projects in areas including water, sanitation, health and nutrition, education, and livelihood self-reliance. These projects are planned together with local residents, and their results are evaluated in cycles of three to five years. Once a community has the capacity to care for children on its own, the projects are handed over to government agencies and community organizations.
Haeeun Sung said, “This campaign made me think again about how a day that feels familiar and ordinary to us may be an everyday reality that someone else struggles to enjoy,” and added, “Since the participation of many people can brighten children’s today and help lead to a better tomorrow, I hope many people will join Give a Bright Day.”
Through this campaign, World Vision is offering a light by ILKW by ILKWANG LIGHTING, the “Snowman8 Portable,” to new donors who begin making regular donations of at least 30,000 won a month. The idea is for them to be reminded of the meaning of consistent support each time they turn on the light. The campaign can be joined through World Vision’s official website.
World Vision President Myung-Hwan Cho said, “For children to grow up healthy, they need the basic conditions for life, including clean water, adequate nutrition and education,” and added, “We will continue to support long-term change so that we can build a sustainable future together with local communities.”
