[Financial News] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) will offer practical training to help apply relevant guidelines in the field, supporting the development of biopharmaceuticals based on advanced technologies.
The National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation, which is part of the MFDS, said on the 2nd that it will hold the “Workshop on Implementing Guidelines for Biopharmaceuticals Based on Advanced New Technologies” on November 6 at The Westin Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The workshop was organized to share the key contents and considerations of biopharmaceutical guidelines established or revised this year, deepen the industry’s understanding, and help apply them in actual product development.
The event will begin with keynote lectures on “Global Regulatory Trends for Biopharmaceuticals” and “Trends in the Development and Regulation of Biopharmaceuticals Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Technologies.” This will be followed by detailed practical training on a total of 15 guidelines across three tracks: biological products, genetically engineered medicines, and cell and gene therapies.
Officials from overseas regulatory agencies and experts will also take part in sessions for each track to share global regulatory changes and the latest product development trends. Opportunities for Q&A and networking with industry representatives will also be provided.
Those wishing to attend can check the detailed program and register in advance on the workshop website.
Kang Seok-yeon, director of the National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation, said, “It is important to provide relevant regulatory information in a timely manner, keeping pace with advances in cutting-edge technologies.” He added, “I hope this workshop will help the guidelines take root in industry and strengthen the competitiveness of the biopharmaceutical industry.”
