DeepSeek unveils a multitasking-capable 'Super Agent'

[Financial News] Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) company DeepSeek has announced a 'Super Agent' that deploys AI agents to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
According to the Global Times and Lianhe Zaobao on the 1st, DeepSeek unveiled the system the previous day, saying, “The Super Agent is not limited to a single chat window. It can continuously handle multiple tasks at once and proactively respond to changes in its environment.”
DeepSeek pointed out, “The tasks AI can perform are steadily increasing, but the attention span of humans responsible for managing those tasks has not grown accordingly, creating a ‘bottleneck’ in productivity.” It said that one person can keep track of only three to five conversations at a time.
The Super Agent was developed to overcome these limitations by having the system, rather than people, manage conversations and synchronize context, while people take responsibility for setting goals and reviewing the work, and AI handles coordination and execution.
To make this possible, the Super Agent is structured so that a 'coordinator (router)' and an 'executor (worker)' operate like a virtual team. The router is said to take in information from platforms such as chats and email in a consolidated manner and assign tasks, while the workers carry out their respective tasks, including code reviews and feature development.
