[Financial News] Actress Chae Shi-ra has offered a heartfelt farewell to the late Choi Bool-am, a highly respected senior actor with whom she shared a long and deeply meaningful on-screen relationship.
On the 1st, Chae shared on social media a photo of herself standing beside the late actor during the filming of the period drama Mimang, expressing her profound longing for him. “You were my father twice in Eyes of Dawn and Goodbye to Goodbye, but it was in Mimang, where we met as grandfather and grandchild, that we worked together the most. Mr. Choi Bool-am, I’ll cherish you just as you are,” she wrote, looking back on her deep memories of him.
The two had previously shared the screen as father and daughter in Eyes of Dawn in 1991 and Goodbye to Goodbye in 2018, and as grandparent and grandchild in Mimang in 1996, creating an ensemble that crossed generations.
Chae expressed her deep respect for the veteran actor, saying, “I was grateful to have worked with you, and just watching you was a lesson.” In particular, her final words, “You worked so hard just to make it through life. May you rest in peace,” honored the toil of the “beloved national actor,” who embraced the public’s joys and sorrows throughout his life and devoted himself fiercely to acting, leaving a deeply moving impression.
The funeral procession for the late actor, who had been battling a chronic illness and passed away at the age of 87 on the 29th of last month, will be held privately and quietly at 7:40 a.m. on the 2nd at the funeral hall at Asan Medical Center, in accordance with his family’s wishes.
