[Financial News] Baemin Rider School, a specialized training center for two-wheeled vehicles operated by Baedal Minjok, has won a series of major architecture awards at home and abroad. The awards recognize the architectural value of its purpose-built facilities and spatial design for rider safety training.
According to industry sources on the 1st, Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, said Baemin Rider School received the Korea Institute of Architects Award at the 2026 49th Korea Institute of Architects Awards ceremony, held on October 31 at BEXCO in Busan.
Established in 1979, the Korea Institute of Architects Award selects winning projects by evaluating architects’ creative work and the contributions of clients and builders. Baemin Rider School was also named a winner in the Educational Buildings category of the Architecture Design division at the 2026 Architecture MasterPrize (AMP), a global architecture design award organized by the U.S.-based Farmani Group.
Opened last year in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, Baemin Rider School is a specialized training facility for two-wheeled vehicles, with three above-ground floors and a total floor area of 8,000 square meters. Built primarily around indoor spaces, it can provide training regardless of the weather. It has a driving practice area that recreates real road conditions and training spaces where riders can experience various scenarios, including wet roads, hills and slippery surfaces. The facility also includes equipment for night-visibility training and virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). Practical training uses eco-friendly, quiet electric two-wheelers.
Baemin Rider School began in 2018 by providing training outsourced to external organizations. After opening its own training space in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, in May 2021, it expanded its facilities to Hanam last year. The cumulative number of people who have completed training since the school began providing its own courses in May 2021 is estimated at nearly 30,000.
According to Baemin, as of 2024, the accident rate among people who completed training had fallen to half or less of its level two years earlier. A study conducted with the Korea Road Traffic Authority (KoROAD) found that safe driving ability had improved by 128%.
Bom Kim, CEO of Woowa Brothers, said, "We will continue to further develop Baemin Rider School so that more riders can receive safety training in a structured environment."
