Chuncheon City adds cashback on gift certificates: 5% of mobile payments through the 15th of this month

【Financial News, Inje = Reporter Kim Gi-seop】Chuncheon City will provide an additional 5% cashback on mobile Chuncheon Love Gift Certificate payments, on top of the existing discount, to help small businesses recover sales.
According to Chuncheon City on the 1st, the additional cashback will be available for 18 days, from the 29th of last month through the 15th of this month, in conjunction with the pan-government 2026 Korea Grand Sale, a campaign to boost consumer spending. During the campaign, customers who pay 100,000 won with a mobile gift certificate will receive an additional 5,000 won in credit.
The benefit is available only for payments made with mobile Chuncheon Love Gift Certificates. The accumulated cashback will be paid in a lump sum as Chuncheon Love Gift Certificate credit this December, and the campaign may end earlier than planned if the budget is exhausted.
The city secured 190 million won in national government funding for the program. It expects the additional benefit to apply to gift certificate payments totaling about 3.8 billion won, helping boost spending within the region.
Lee Young-ae, director of Chuncheon City's Economic Promotion Bureau, said, "I hope this cashback, which adds 5% to the existing discount, will serve as a catalyst for restoring sales at shops that have seen fewer customers amid the economic downturn." She added, "The campaign may close early if the budget runs out, so please use your mobile gift certificates to visit neighborhood markets and shopping streets often before the 15th of this month."
