People should pay attention to sea conditions along the East Sea coast. The Korean Meteorological Administration forecast that strong winds and high waves would continue in the far offshore waters of the East Sea, with swells moving toward the East Sea coast from the afternoon. Swells could surge forcefully onto the shore or over seawalls, so it would be best to avoid going near the coast. The air will be dry in Yeongdong, Gangwon Province, and in the East Sea coastal region and northeastern mountain areas of North Gyeongsang Province, raising the need for caution to prevent wildfires and other fires.
On Sunday, November 1, skies will be mostly cloudy nationwide, with rain in some areas. Rain will begin in southwestern Gyeonggi Province between 9 a.m. and noon, while the Chungcheong region will see rain from the morning. Rain is expected to spread to the southern regions and Jeju in the afternoon, then to most parts of the country at night.
The timing and amount of rain will vary by region. Around 5 mm is expected in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province, and about 5–10 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong Province and North Chungcheong Province. Forecast amounts are 5–40 mm in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province, 5–20 mm in North Jeolla Province, 5–30 mm in Busan, Ulsan and South Gyeongsang Province, and 5–20 mm in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province. Jeju is expected to receive 10–60 mm, with considerable variation by area.
Tomorrow’s morning low is forecast at 3–10°C, with a daytime high of 10–18°C. Temperatures will be lower than today, and cloudy skies and rain may make it feel even chillier. It would be a good idea to take an umbrella and an extra layer when going out.
The rain will mostly stop between the early morning and morning of November 2. In some places, it will continue until early morning in the central regions and the Jeolla region, and until morning in the Gyeongsang region and Jeju. Afterward, skies will be mostly cloudy nationwide before gradually clearing from the morning.
The Korean Meteorological Administration urged people to take care on the roads, which may become slippery where it rains. Those driving on weekend outings should especially check whether rain is expected when it begins and around the time they return home.
