[Financial News] Actor Cha Ye-ryun (41, birth name Park Hyeon-ho) has been identified as a perpetrator of school violence, and her agency has categorically denied the allegations. After a post appeared online claiming past victimization from school violence, the agency stated that the claims were untrue.
On the 30th, Cha Ye-ryun’s agency, HB Entertainment, said of the school violence allegations posted online, “We saw a post related to school violence, but upon checking, found the claims to be completely unfounded.”
The previous day, on the 29th, a post titled “(19)85-born actress who perpetrated school bullying—please stop your activities” was posted on an online community.
The poster claimed that actor C, a graduate of Junggye Middle School, had been a perpetrator of school violence in the past. The poster wrote, “The truth about actor C, a Junggye Middle School graduate, is that C was a school-bullying perpetrator and a former member of a school bully clique. C was so notorious at school as a bully and school-violence perpetrator that even nearby schools all knew about it.” The poster also shared Junggye Middle School’s yearbook, saying it supported the claims.
The poster said they continued to suffer mental distress over the experience even decades later. The poster claimed, “Several decades have already passed. So much time has gone by. But I am still in so much mental distress. Because of that kid, I still go to a mental health clinic and take medication, living with depression and symptoms of anxiety.”
The poster also claimed that their eardrum had been damaged in the assault. The poster said, “They beat me viciously, mostly striking my cheeks, and my eardrum was torn and my cheek swelled up badly. If they stubbornly deny it by saying ‘No,’ or spout nonsense like ‘I don’t remember’ or ‘That’s completely unfounded,’ I’ll submit testimony from former classmates and additional evidence.”
