Daegu Metropolitan Council holds expanded leadership meeting ahead of review of next year’s Daegu City and education office budgets

【Financial News, Daegu = Reporter Kim Jang-uk】The Daegu Metropolitan Council held an expanded leadership meeting in preparation for reviewing next year’s budgets for Daegu City and the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education.
The Daegu Metropolitan Council held an expanded leadership meeting on the 30th in a second-floor conference room, attended by Council Chair Im In-hwan, the council leadership and the chairs of its standing committees.
 The expanded leadership received reports on key budget-planning details and new projects in Daegu City and the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education’s “2026 final supplementary budget proposal and 2027 budget proposal,” followed by a question-and-answer session.
Council Chair Im In-hwan emphasized, “Given that we must meet a range of administrative needs with limited resources, I ask each standing committee chair to carefully review the necessity and effectiveness of each project and ensure that budgets are properly allocated to where they are most needed.”
Council Chair Im urged, “(Regarding the executive branch,) please closely monitor changes in local fiscal conditions following the establishment of the Future Response Fund, take Daegu City’s difficult financial situation into account while securing fiscal soundness, and proactively consult with relevant agencies to secure stable funding.”
