[Financial News] The Ministry of Justice said the claim was false amid online allegations that a Muslim who had obtained an E-7 (Specific Activities) visa had brought 10 family members to Korea.
Comments called for blocking Muslims from bringing family members to Korea... but the Ministry of Justice says the claim is false

On the 30th, the Ministry of Justice said a comprehensive survey of family members staying in Korea with foreign E-7 visa holders found no foreign nationals who had invited 10 family members to stay with them.
A post recently circulated on online communities claiming that a Bangladeshi national had obtained an E-7 visa, invited 10 family members—including a spouse and nine children—to Korea, and registered them as dependents under the National Health Insurance system.
The post drew a string of comments saying that Muslim foreign workers should be barred from bringing their families to Korea.
Strict experience and education requirements for E-7 visas... Applicants must also prove their income when bringing family members

Known as a “work visa,” the E-7 visa is issued to foreign nationals working in specialized fields designated by the Ministry of Justice, and strict requirements apply to education and work experience related to the job.
Foreign nationals legally staying in Korea long-term, including E-7 visa holders, may invite only a legally married spouse and minor children under dependent (F-3) status.
Parents, siblings, and other relatives are not eligible to be invited.
To bring family members living in their home country to Korea, foreign nationals must meet an income requirement based on household size; the larger the household, the higher the threshold.
Under this year’s standards, an applicant bringing a spouse and two children must prove annual income of approximately 39 million won or more.
Currently, 20.6% of foreign nationals with E-7 visas have invited family members, bringing an average of 1.6 people per person.
The Ministry of Justice also said that the alien registration card, health insurance dependent records, and social media (SNS) posts attached to the post came from different sources, and it had not been confirmed whether they all belonged to the same person.
