[Financial News] IPARK Hyundai Development conducted a final quality inspection ahead of the completion of Gwangju Centennial IPARK.
According to IPARK Hyundai Development on the 30th, the joint industry-academia-research advisory panel conducted a quality inspection at the Gwangju Centennial IPARK site the previous day.
The inspection was attended by IPARK Hyundai Development executives and staff, including Park Hong-keun, head of the Construction Innovation Group and a professor at Seoul National University; Kang Min-seok, head of the Architecture Division; and Jeong Han-hyo, site manager at Gwangju Centennial IPARK. External experts also took part, including Hong Geon-ho, president of the Korea Concrete Institute (KCI), and Kim Yeong-min, former president of the Korean Association of Structural Engineers.
The advisory panel inspected the overall quality of the Gwangju Centennial IPARK site. It examined the sky lounge, rooftop level, evacuation refuge floor, and apartment interiors on the top floor of Building 201 in Complex 2. It then checked the construction of key structural components in the underground parking garage and inspected the apartments on the top floor of Building 104 in Complex 1.
The Gwangju Centennial IPARK site has undergone several quality inspections by the industry-academia-research joint advisory panel, overseen by the Construction Innovation Group. Before stabilization work began following the accident, the panel provided advice on demolition methods. It also continued to inspect structural safety and construction quality during demolition and reconstruction.
Since construction began, Gwangju Centennial IPARK has achieved a threefold accident-free milestone (3 million hours) without a single safety accident. Park Hong-keun, head of IPARK Hyundai Development’s Construction Innovation Group, said, “I am very grateful that the project has been built to a high standard without any safety accidents, from demolition through rebuilding.” He added, “We have worked to improve structural stability and constructability while considering how to improve safety and quality. I hope these efforts will be further developed and actively applied to future projects as well.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Centennial IPARK site is carrying out landscaping and final interior work on the apartments ahead of pre-move-in inspections scheduled for mid-November. Completion is scheduled for the end of December.
