[Financial News] “Let’s work together to nurture the next generation of sports talent who will represent Korea in golf and baseball.”
Pacific Links Korea, a global premium golf lifestyle platform, said on the 30th that it had agreed to support junior golfers’ entry onto the international stage while continuing to share with the Chan Ho Park Foundation a commitment to developing youth sports. The company is represented by CEO Jang Ok-young.
To put this commitment into practice, Pacific Links Korea said on the 30th that it would host the “Pacific Links Cup AJGA-WAGR IPS 3 with IJGA” from November 1 to 3 at the Pine and Lake courses of Century 21 Country Club in Wonju-si, Gangwon Province.
It will also serve as the official operating partner of the “6th Chan Ho Park Charity Golf Tournament,” to be held on November 2.
The aim is to bring the two tournaments together as a collaborative platform supporting the growth and ambitions of young athletes.
Chan Ho Park, head of the Chan Ho Park Foundation, will attend the awards ceremony on November 3, the final day of the third IPS tournament, and present the awards.
Park will personally present prizes to the placing players and is expected to encourage the ambitions of future golf talent.
It is expected to add significance that foundation chairman Chan Ho Park, who took on the U.S. stage as the first Korean major leaguer, will help present awards to junior golfers aspiring to compete on the world stage.
The collaboration is noteworthy because it goes beyond simply participating in events to foster young athletes across the boundaries between sports.
Pacific Links Korea has provided promising golfers with international tournament experience and a springboard for competing overseas, while the Chan Ho Park Foundation has supported the growth and self-reliance of young baseball players. Their work in different fields has thus converged on a shared goal: nurturing the next generation of sports talent.
The third IPS tournament is jointly hosted and organized by Pacific Links Korea, the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), and the International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA). About 100 middle and high school students aged 13 to 18 will compete over three days in a 54-hole stroke-play format.
The tournament is the first in Korea where players can earn both AJGA PBE (Performance Based Entry) and World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points at the same event.
Participants can build their opportunities to compete in U.S. junior tournaments and strengthen their competitiveness on the world amateur stage without traveling abroad.
AJGA PBE is a system that awards opportunities to compete in future AJGA tournaments based on results. The male and female winners of this tournament will each receive a 2027 AJGA Fully Exempt status, while other top finishers will receive different numbers of PBE stars according to their placing. However, full exemptions are available only to players in their second year of high school or younger. WAGR rankings are used as a key measure of eligibility for international amateur tournaments and of players’ competitiveness.
After holding the first IPS event, the Kim Hyung-sung Cup Junior Golf Tournament, in June and the second IPS event, the Kim Hyo-joo–Pacific Links Korea Cup AJGA Championship, in August, Pacific Links Korea is continuing to expand opportunities for Korean junior golfers to compete internationally by incorporating the WAGR ranking system into the third tournament as well.
Pacific Links Korea plans to continue developing athletes through golf and creating social value in sports by helping promising young players showcase their potential on a bigger stage.
Pacific Links Korea is a global premium golf platform combining golf and lifestyle. Drawing on around 280 golf courses in Korea and some 1,000 prestigious courses overseas, it offers a range of services designed to create special golf experiences for customers, from travel, tournament viewing and event participation to lessons and golf equipment shopping.
