According to Celltrion on the 30th, OMLYCLO (generic name: omalizumab), a treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria and allergic diseases launched in Europe in the second half of last year, had a 30% share of the European market in the second quarter of this year. It secured shares of 47% in the UK and 25% in Italy. Since entering Europe as a first mover, it has rapidly expanded prescriptions by capitalizing on its early-mover advantage.
Treatments for autoimmune diseases are also growing. Avtozma (Tofersen) had a 13% share of the European market in the second quarter of this year, about twice its share in the previous quarter. It secured shares of 32% in Spain and 66% in Portugal. Steqeyma (ustekinumab) won tenders from major regional governments in Italy, including Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, reaching a local market share of 28%.
The market position of Celltrion’s established flagship products also remains strong. The infliximab products Remsima IV and Remsima SC had market shares of 70% across Europe and 77% in Europe’s five major markets (EU5). In France, their share is close to 80%.
The liquid formulation of Remsima IV, launched early this year, is securing new supply contracts. Celltrion’s Netherlands subsidiary signed a supply agreement in the third quarter of this year with the country’s largest hospital group, comprising seven university hospitals. Starting in February 2027, it will supply the group’s entire demand for infliximab.
Yuflyma (atezolizumab), a treatment for autoimmune diseases, and Vegzelma (bevacizumab), an anticancer drug, continue to lead the market, with shares of 30% and 34%, respectively, in the EU5.
These results are also reflected in the company’s performance. Celltrion’s new product portfolio generated 905.8 billion won in revenue in the third quarter, accounting for 67% of its biopharmaceutical revenue. OMLYCLO, in particular, contributed to growth, generating cumulative revenue of 320.5 billion won through the third quarter.
Celltrion plans to expand sales of its new product portfolio through a direct-sales strategy tailored to each country’s tender environment and market characteristics. It aims to increase the portfolio’s share of revenue to 70% while strengthening sales and marketing to healthcare institutions to continue improving profitability.
A Celltrion representative said, “Tender wins for our new product portfolio and expanded prescriptions at healthcare institutions are translating into actual market share,” adding, “We will sustain sales growth in major European countries through tailored, field-focused direct-sales strategies.”
