SK Gas Co., Ltd. appoints strategy chief Song Gyeong-yeol as new president

[Financial News] SK Gas Co., Ltd. has appointed Song Gyeong-yeol, its head of strategy, as its new president. Song has overseen business strategy in the energy and power sectors and the development of new businesses at SK Group. Yun Byeong-seok, the current president of SK Gas Co., Ltd., will move to SK Discovery as its new president.
SK Gas Co., Ltd. announced the executive appointments on the 30th.
After working at McKinsey & Company, Song joined SK Group in 2019. He then oversaw group-wide business strategy in the energy and power sectors, new business development, and portfolio strategy.
Song served as head of the SK Management and Economic Research Institute in 2025 and currently serves as head of the Strategy Division at SK Gas Co., Ltd. and head of the Business Development Division and Future Strategy Center at SK Discovery.
SK Gas Co., Ltd. is pursuing expansion of the LNG value chain and identifying new business opportunities, with a focus on its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) businesses. Song is expected to oversee efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of its core businesses, implement mid- to long-term growth strategies, and develop new businesses.
