[Financial News] To mark its 50th anniversary, Unibera held a symposium at the International Conference of the Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition, sharing with the academic community its aloe research achievements from the past 50 years and its vision for future research.
According to industry sources on the 30th, Unibera held an “Aloe 50th Anniversary Symposium” session at the “2026 International Conference of the Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition,” which took place over three days, from the 28th to the 30th, at the International Convention Center Jeju in Seogwipo, Jeju, to mark the company’s 50th anniversary.
At the conference, Unibera held a session on the theme “The Rediscovery of Aloe Gel: A 50-Year Journey of Innovation in Quality and Functionality.” Looking back on advances in quality and functionality achieved through aloe research over the past 50 years, it presented future research directions and a vision spanning aloe gel quality standardization, dry eye improvement, and biosynthesis-based applications of aloe-derived low-molecular-weight substances.
Since succeeding in the trial cultivation of aloe in 1976, Unibera has continued research into aloe’s active ingredients and immune polysaccharides, as well as work to establish quality standards for raw materials. The symposium was organized to share the research achievements accumulated so far with the academic community and explore the direction of research for the next 50 years. Unibera Research Institute Director Do Seon-gil, who presented at the event, introduced research achievements on the quality and functionality of aloe gel.
“This symposium was an opportunity to look back together with the academic community on the path aloe research has taken over the past 50 years and to share the direction of future research,” the research institute director said. “We will broaden the horizons of aloe research, from standardizing quality and expanding functionality to developing new biosynthesis-based applications.”
