[Financial News] Pearl Abyss has unveiled the first downloadable content (DLC) for its open-world action-adventure game ‘Crimson Desert,’ moving to expand the game’s content. The plan is to broaden the player experience by adding lifestyle content—including ocean voyages, underwater exploration, romance and marriage, and facility management—to gameplay previously centered on combat and exploration.
According to industry sources on the 30th, Pearl Abyss released ‘Journey into the Unknown,’ the first DLC for ‘Crimson Desert Enhanced,’ worldwide that day.
The DLC features a new story and expands the setting for adventure beyond the existing continent of Pywel, out into the open sea and underwater.
Players can sail out to sea aboard ships they build themselves and explore new islands. They can also dive underwater to discover hidden treasures and ruins and uncover secrets that have remained undisclosed until now.
Content that lets players form relationships with Pywel’s residents and build a daily life has also been added alongside combat and exploration. Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane can build trust with residents and develop romantic relationships or get married. Players can also engage in economic activities by leasing and running facilities at liberated outposts to accumulate wealth.
The housing system has also been expanded. Beyond interior decorating, players can design and build everything themselves, from the placement of structural elements such as walls and windows to the basic layout of a house. After liberating an outpost, players can freely decorate the courtyards and interior spaces of some castles and use them as their own spaces.
Crimson Desert Enhanced: Journey into the Unknown is available on PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac, and the Epic Games Store.
