On the 30th, Hyundai Motor said it would roll out an update with new features and a user interface to customers of The New Grandeur.
A door-lock button has been added to the driving information screen. A single tap locks or unlocks all the doors. A gear-shift window has also been added. Previously, the screen showed only the current gear. Now, a window appears each time the gear is shifted, letting drivers see at a glance whether the vehicle is in P (Park), R (Reverse), N (Neutral) or D (Drive).
The slim display can also show engine speed (RPM) through the gear information widget. Its graphic style also changes depending on the drive mode. Hyundai Motor said it has tailored the speedometer font and background to reflect the characteristics of each drive mode.
The in-vehicle voice AI agent Gleo AI has gained features based on customer feedback. Hyundai Motor has enhanced its navigation-linked search function so that when drivers ask by voice for a place while driving, it finds nearby locations based on their actual route. Search results for places where proximity is important are automatically sorted by distance.
The system also supports an on-device text-to-speech (TTS) feature that reads text messages aloud in response to voice commands. Voice commands related to calls and text messages are restricted in the rear seats to prevent unintended operation.
This update is for The New Grandeur. The recently launched All-New Avante and All-New Hyundai Tucson already come with the update and are being delivered to customers. Hyundai Motor plans to expand the in-vehicle customer experience powered by Pleos Connect and continue rolling out software updates that reflect customer feedback and real-world usage.
A Hyundai Motor representative said, “This update focuses on strengthening convenience features that customers can experience in their everyday driving,” adding, “We will continue to expand in-vehicle services based on customers’ experiences and provide an evolving in-car experience even after delivery through software updates.”
