[Financial News] A story has emerged from a passenger who said they were uncomfortable throughout the flight because of an inconsiderate passenger in the seat behind them, who slept with their feet on the armrest of the seat in front and did not lower them even while the in-flight meal was being served.
On the 26th, a post criticizing the behavior of a passenger seen on a flight spread on social media (SNS). The post’s author, identified as A, said, “At first I thought they were a foreigner, but they were Korean,” and said the passenger spent the entire flight with their feet up on the seat in front, in what was described as “lie-down economy.”
A said, “I’ve never seen someone do ‘lie-down economy’ with their feet up on the seat in front. I thought about saying something directly, but they were sitting right next to me, so I felt awkward and had a stressful flight.” A added, “I was on edge because they kept their feet up even when the in-flight meal was served, even though I knew they were Korean.”
According to A, as soon as the flight began, the passenger put something down under the seat they had propped their feet on and went to sleep. A said that even after speaking to a flight attendant, the passenger continued behaving inconsiderately, sticking their feet out even farther.
He said, “I told a flight attendant because the passenger pretended not to notice even when I spoke loudly enough for them to hear, but their feet stuck out even farther.” He added, “The flight attendant also seemed not to know the passenger was Korean.”
As the post spread, online users continued to express outrage. Responses included, “They don’t even have basic manners,” “If they were like that throughout the flight, how stressed must the person in the seat in front have been?” and “I don’t want to believe they were Korean.”
