[Financial News] Free programs will let visitors tour exhibitions with commentary during their lunch break and explore artworks while conversing with artificial intelligence (AI). Early-morning visits will also be offered, with the museum opening an hour early for exam takers and teenagers.
According to ARKO on the 30th, ARKO Art Center in Seoul’s Jongno District will offer five audience-participation programs in conjunction with its special exhibition “The Collection: Scenes of the Times,” which runs through December 6.
The exhibition revisits the history of Korean contemporary art through 70 works by 60 artists in the museum’s collection. It also presents archival materials documenting the artists’ activities and the museum’s exhibition history.
“Artful Lunch” is a lunchtime docent tour for office workers and others near Daehangno. It will run from 12:10 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. on Thursdays in November—November 5, 12, 19 and 26. Visitors will tour the exhibition with commentary from a professional docent and talk with the curator who organized it. Sandwiches and coffee will be provided to the first 15 people to register in advance for each session.
“Art Stroll” is a program that moves the opening time up by an hour, to 10 a.m., from Tuesday through Friday between November 24 and December 4. Exam takers and teenagers, as well as general visitors, can freely explore the exhibition early in the day.
The art-appreciation workshop “That Moment, That Scene” will be held on November 1, 7 and 21 for children and families, seniors, and general visitors. Participants express the meaning of an artwork or their own experiences through pictures and stories. Each session lasts about an hour and a half.
At 3 p.m. on November 8, the “Expert Exhibition Tour,” led by Kim Daljin, director of the Kim Daljin Museum of Art Archives, will be held.
“AI Docent and Exhibition Chat,” available throughout the exhibition, is an interactive AI art-appreciation program introduced for the first time by ARKO Art Center. It provides commentary and conversation focused on works by 30 of the artists participating in the exhibition.
Visitors can choose to chat with “Yuyongi,” which provides information about artworks, or “Poyongi,” which offers a relaxed way to share their impressions. They can access the program via an on-site QR code without installing a separate app.
All programs are free. Advance registration for the lunchtime tour, art-appreciation workshops and expert exhibition tour is available on the museum’s website. The early-morning visits are self-guided.
