LH held a Cybersecurity Review and Countermeasures Meeting at its headquarters in Jinju on the 29th, chaired by President Lee Seong-hoon. Department heads responsible for information security and those overseeing major external-facing information systems attended to discuss the results of emergency response efforts, current security issues, and plans to build an AI-based security platform.
Immediately after the hacking incident in the financial sector, LH blocked IP addresses suspected of involvement in attacks and comprehensively reviewed access logs for its systems. It incorporated AI-based attack patterns into its internal security systems and stepped up focused monitoring of externally accessible services.
After the National Intelligence Service issued an urgent notice on the 22nd about a PHP security vulnerability, LH checked whether PHP was used across all of its information systems. At the meeting, it also reviewed the status of urgent remedial measures, including security patches for the affected systems.
LH had previously replaced outdated security equipment last year and introduced a security response automation system (SOAR) and an Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) system. This year, it completed the development of an automated platform for checking information system vulnerabilities, and plans to pursue an AI-based upgrade project going forward.
LH President Lee Seong-hoon said, "As LH provides large-scale public services closely tied to people’s daily lives, including housing supply and housing subscriptions, protecting information assets is a responsibility of the utmost importance." He urged the organization to "raise its information-protection standards further in response to increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, and do everything possible to identify and block all security threats in advance."
