[Financial News] Men wearing women’s clothing were separately spotted on Seoul Subway Lines 1 and 3. One man was alleged to have stretched inside a train or stared intently at another passenger, while another reportedly walked through the train cars playing certain phrases over a speaker.
According to JTBC’s ‘Scandal Supervisor’ on the 28th, reports were received of men wearing women’s clothing being spotted on Seoul Subway Lines 3 and 1, respectively. Both incidents took place the previous day, the 27th.
The first tipster said they spotted a man wearing women’s clothing in front of the ticket gates at Gyeongbokgung Station on Seoul Subway Line 3 at around 2 p.m. on the 27th. They said they encountered the same man again after boarding a train.
The tipster said the man stood in front of the priority seats for vulnerable passengers, gripped the handrails with both hands, and stretched his body. His gait also seemed unusually animated, and the tipster claimed they felt afraid because he continued to stare at them even after their eyes met.
The person in the video wore a red turtleneck under a V-neck cardigan with ribbon decorations, along with a black miniskirt. The footage also showed them wearing a white hat and gloves and black knee-high boots.
The outfit accentuated the chest, and the person also appeared to be wearing women’s shaping underwear.
After the tipster posted the video on social media (SNS), comments reportedly appeared saying that the same man had been spotted at another subway station as well.
A report also came in that a man wearing women’s clothing had been spotted at Jegi-dong Station on Seoul Subway Line 1 at around 12:20 p.m. that same day, the 27th.
The video released by the second tipster showed a person wearing a blonde wig. They wore a blue denim shirt, a black miniskirt and tights, along with white shoes, and carried a red bag over their shoulder.
The tipster said they thought the person was a man after seeing the person’s beard, and estimated that they were in their 60s.
The person moved between train cars and walked among the passengers. According to the tipster, audio including the phrase “An era of chaos is coming” played from a speaker the man was carrying.
People online who saw the accounts were divided. Some reacted, “That’s scary” and “Why are there so many people like this these days?” Others said that “dressing in women’s clothing is a personal freedom” and “there’s nothing wrong with it as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else,” arguing that the person’s clothing itself should not be treated as a problem.
