[Financial News] KACES received a commendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the “2026 Outstanding Library Awards for Contributions to Library Operations,” held on the 28th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City.
According to KACES on the 29th, the “Awards for Contributions to Library Operations” was established to identify outstanding libraries, support their qualitative growth, and provide the public with high-quality reading culture services. This year, outstanding libraries were selected after evaluation in five areas, including library management, human resources, and information services.
KACES has operated a specialized library for arts and culture education, systematically collecting and managing related materials. It was recognized for improving access to knowledge and information in the field of arts and culture education through digital information services and a range of reading culture programs.
The specialized library for arts and culture education, which opened in 2017, has collected and preserved related research, project, and educational materials, among others, and provided specialized information. Last year, the digital library recorded approximately 1,249,000 visitors and 183,000 downloads of full-text materials. User satisfaction exceeded 89 points.
It also runs reading culture programs. Through events marking Library Week in April and Reading Month in September, staff reading clubs and book discussions, and “Arte Book Talk,” a series of author talks for the public, it has created opportunities to share books and knowledge of arts and culture. Arte Book Talk was held 15 times in total from 2023 to 2025, with 769 participants overall.
