[Financial News] GS Shop is expanding its private-label (PB) products across key categories, including fashion, home and beauty, as it moves to strengthen the competitiveness of its exclusive offerings.
According to industry sources on the 29th, GS Shop will roll out a series of new winter-season products centered on its private labels, including UBGS underwear, Heriden bedding and Byu beauty products. Its strategy is to develop products in high demand by incorporating sales data, customer reviews and survey results from the product-planning stage.
Underwear brand UBGS will launch its new fall/winter (F/W) season product, “Peach-Brushed Multiwear,” on TV home shopping on the 30th. Heriden, GS Shop’s bedding private label, will air the second broadcast of its “Boil-Washable 100% Wool Bedding Set” on the same day. The product was developed over about a year based on customer feedback. Beauty brand Byu will introduce its “Skin Fit Mask Pack” through its mobile application (app).
Private-label sales are also posting strong results. UBGS, launched last May, has sold 230,000 pieces of underwear from its Comfort line, surpassing 2 billion won in cumulative orders. Heriden recorded 920 million won in orders in its first broadcast, achieving 150% of its target. Byu had more than 70,000 cumulative customers placing orders through the third and fourth quarters of this year.
Lee Yun-ji, a manager on GS Shop’s Casual Underwear Team, said, “The strength of private labels is that they allow us to incorporate customers’ actual purchase data and feedback from the product-planning stage and offer differentiated, exclusive products.” She added, “We will continue to offer products that meet customer demand across a range of categories and strengthen the competitiveness of our private labels.”
