Broker in new-drug approval solicitation allegations who filed a defamation complaint against Han Dong-hoon appears at police station

[Financial News] Broker Yang, identified in connection with allegations that former Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won sought a favor for approval of a new drug clinical trial, appeared at a police station over the complaint he filed against independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon.
The Metropolitan Crime Investigation Division of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency summoned Yang as the complainant at around 1:30 p.m. on the 29th and is questioning him.
Yang entered the building without offering any substantive answers when reporters asked what he would emphasize during questioning as the complainant and about the court's ruling on the 600 million won paid in exchange for the solicitation.
Earlier, on the 8th, Yang filed a complaint against Han at the Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station on charges including defamation and violating the Protection of Communications Secrets Act.
Yang's side claimed that Han spread false information on social media (SNS), describing the establishment Yang operated as a “room salon” and a “Gangnam adult entertainment bar,” even though it was registered as a general restaurant.
Yang's side also maintains that an investigation should establish how Han obtained and made public recordings of Yang's phone conversations, text messages, and materials believed to include a Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office document outlining plans to indict.
After receiving the complaint, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station transferred the case to the Metropolitan Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
