[Financial News] Hanil Cement is stepping up the development of technologies to improve work efficiency and construction quality at building sites. The company is strengthening its product competitiveness, from AI-powered production and construction technologies to specialty concrete that enables stable construction even in extreme cold and heat. Its strategy addresses practical needs at construction sites, including shorter construction schedules, reduced labor burdens, and minimized variations in quality.
According to industry sources on the 29th, Hanil Cement ranked first in three categories—Portland cement, dry mortar, and ready-mixed concrete—at the 2026 Korean Quality Satisfaction Index (KS-QEI). It has ranked first for 17 consecutive years in Portland cement, 18 years in dry mortar, and 7 years in ready-mixed concrete. The Korean Quality Satisfaction Index is a comprehensive indicator that surveys consumers and product experts on product quality and satisfaction.
In the cement category, the company is pursuing product differentiation centered on its specialty cement brand HI-CEM. It has built a product lineup that includes rapid-hardening, slag, masonry, and low-heat cement to meet on-site needs such as shorter construction schedules, reduced carbon emissions, and improved workability. The Danyang plant has improved the accuracy and safety of production management by using an industrial drone equipped with AI software to precisely measure raw material inventory and inspect equipment interiors and elevated pipelines that are difficult for workers to access.
The dry mortar brand Remital has incorporated smart construction technology into its product development. A patent obtained this year for an “AI-based mobile silo system” covers technology that uses AI to adjust in real time the amount of water mixed into mortar according to temperature and humidity, and automatically calculates pumping pressure based on the height of the building where the mortar is to be poured. The company plans to pursue commercialization to make construction easier.
The ready-mixed concrete division is addressing seasonal construction challenges with “cold-resistant concrete” and “high-retention concrete,” jointly developed with Hanil Industrial. Both products received technical performance certification from the Korea Institute of Building Construction this year.
Hanil Cement President Jeon Geun-sik said, “We plan to continue quality innovation while pursuing both the development of site-tailored products and the advancement of production and construction technologies,” adding, “We will listen closely to our customers and actively respond to on-site needs.”
